My Dad passed away this morning....

It happened so fast. His breathing became such a struggle in the middle of the night. I called home health nurse to assess him at 6am. His lungs filled with fluid  in just a few hours.
The ER doctor suspected a pulmonary embolism.
I'm so thankful for the time I had to be with him the last few months.
Thank you everyone for your living comments to my previous post.
 Much love to you all,
Robin

I am so sorry for your loss , I will continue to pray for you and your sister. In the days ahead give yourself permission to mourn the things lost and the things that never were. I know it will be hard because you are such a caregiver but take some time and let others take care of you .

Dear Robin, I feel for your loss and send you some warm and caring hugs. I lost my dad and not quite 10 months later, I lost my mom. Seeing your love one take their last breath is quite an experience.

I'm glad that he had enjoyed and appreciated your care and presence and that you have been allowed to see your dad show his gratitude to you for the care and love you gave him. Love is never wasted, it's the greatest thing that can change the world and make it better.

You are a caring and loving person, it's plain to see.
You are in my thoughts and prayers for the days ahead.
Warm hugs,
JB

Robyn, when my Dad passed away many years ago I thought for sure my world was going to end. We had just lost Mom 10 months before and although her death was hard, it was not anything like the grief I felt at the loss of my Dad. I didn't have much time to recover from those two losses when we lost Steve's Dad 11 months later. All I can say to you hon, is it does get better but you will have many days of deep sadness. Know we are all here to help you through. I wish I had been online back then. Hugs and comforting prayers for you.

Robyn dear ~ I so admire your humility and courage ... to keep
going when you are exhausted and in pain takes determination and strong character. What an example
of goodness you were to your Dad
and what a role model for your own Children. You will never regret expressing such great
compassion in your Dad's final
days. Bless you and prayers for
your healing and recovery.

So sorry for your loss. Just how lucky you were to have spent this precious time with your father. But also know in your heart your dad was probably feeling so peaceful and blessed to have spent so much time with you in his last days. Remember grieving takes time, and for each of us that time is different. You will know when suddenly a memory that brought pain, sadness and a quick tear to the eye suddenly is peaceful and brings a smile to your face as it warms the heart! Hugs Deb
