It happened so fast. His breathing became such a struggle in the middle of the night. I called home health nurse to assess him at 6am. His lungs filled with fluid in just a few hours.
The ER doctor suspected a pulmonary embolism.
I'm so thankful for the time I had to be with him the last few months.
Thank you everyone for your living comments to my previous post.

Hi Robin, I came across your blog by chance. Sometimes these things happen by God's hand. I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. I feel by reading your previous posting, there has been some healing that has happened both for you and your Dad. All good. You are an amazing person with so much strength. Know that you were chosen to live the life you have had. You have gained so much from all your hardship and God always restores what is taken from us in his time. Lots of prayer and blessing is sent your way. May this new year be filled with much blessings. Sandy
Robyn, when my Dad passed away many years ago I thought for sure my world was going to end. We had just lost Mom 10 months before and although her death was hard, it was not anything like the grief I felt at the loss of my Dad. I didn't have much time to recover from those two losses when we lost Steve's Dad 11 months later. All I can say to you hon, is it does get better but you will have many days of deep sadness. Know we are all here to help you through. I wish I had been online back then. Hugs and comforting prayers for you.
Bless you dear. My mother-in-love passed just a few weeks ago. May God bless you and comfort you and help you through all the things you must do. God bless you, Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage

Robyn dear ~ I so admire your humility and courage ... to keep going when you are exhausted and in pain takes determination and strong character. What an example of goodness you were to your Dad and what a role model for your own Children. You will never regret expressing such great compassion in your Dad's final days. Bless you and prayers for your healing and recovery.

Just how lucky you were to have spent this precious time with your father. But also know in your heart your dad was probably feeling so peaceful and blessed to have spent so much time with you in his last days.
