Found a Rug Hooking Class nearby and some new goodies...
I am so excited to say that after much google-ing and searching, I actually stumbled upon a nearby rug hooking class !!
The woman who owns a small quilt shop ( part owner ) I happened upon in a little town not too far from us called Pittsfield, Pa. , is holding one in late Spring...
I was initially just l;ooking for some wool yardage and this was the only place I could find within a 100 mile radius....So after finding her shop and finally being in "wool heaven" , I mentioned how it is my dream to learn to rug hook...Well dontchaknow, she is going to be holding a class soon..I almost fell over....so anyways, I did some shopping while I was there and we also stopped at another great Primitive shop in Corry, Pa. called " Something Special "..I grabbed a few things there also....
It was such a nice day even though the weather was awful..It was cold, rainy, windy ...just plain wet wet wet and cold!!
Hugs my friends !!
Robin

Those are great goodies you picked up and I hope you enjoy your hooking class. I took one last year and loved it, but haven't done much of it as of late. The museum in town is having a rug hooking exhibit so I'm hoping that sparks me to get back with it. I know you're going to love it.
Oh wow...I taught myself to rug hook, but would LOVE to take a class. I live in PA, but I will have to see where Pittsfield is...I live near Pittsburgh.
I would love to learn how to rug hook! Maybe someday! I like your purchases!
Some great finds. That Need'l Love book looks wonderful. So good to hear you will getting into rug hooking. I know you're going to love it! I also taught myself to rug hook but know I could have benefited from a class.
I took a rug making class once years ago and bought the little tools to go with it. Ours was braided rugs and I even went out and bought wool to make them but only made a small one and when I moved a few years later got rid of all of it. The rug hooking should be neat. Will you be using rags?
Aren't you going to have fun!! I love those little folk art stars that you show on your post. Can't you just see a whole tree filled with them.
HI ROBIN!
Thanks for commenting on my blog! Oh I can't believe what Grace sent me...she really went all out.
How lucky you found a rug hooking class.
I had to do it on my own and it's not too hard to actually teach yourself if you have a book.
I'm not good but I think I know what I'm doing...just need to perfect my loops.

Love what you bought. Your hands will be busy!
Congrat's on finding a place where you can shop and take a class!
I'm glad that you found a class! I just started my first rug hooking project (other than the small one made in class). I'm finding that hooking on monks cloth is easier than burlap. (instructor was trying to keep costs down and use cheaper materials. the cost can deter some that are interested in learning) Can't wait to try hooking on linen. I'm cutting strips by hand (and Olfa cutter) for now, and it's working. :-)

Congrats on finding a class in your area! I'm guessing you'll be hooked!

Wonderful goodies you found. So glad you found a class nearby....let the fun begin!
I'm glad that you found a rug hooking class! It is a great hobby and you can have so much fun with it. All of your doodles are perfect for wool strips when you enlarge the pattern! Have a great time!

So glad that you will be able to take a class on rug hooking. It is a lot of fun.
Robin, could you share the name of the shop offering a rug hooking class? I live near Jamestown, NY and would be very interested in learning to hook wool rugs myself!
Sounds like a great day out Robin...can't wait until you start hooking...it's one of the best creative endevours ever!
Although your weather was yucky, sounds like it was a very delightful day for you! How awesome for you to find a class near you. Have fun with it!
