Ever Wonder ????

Did you ever see a really old house and wonder what it must have looked like in it's prime ?? I do all the time and this house had me so intrigued, I had to get a picture of it. My "dream" is to buy and old home like this and renovate it, but try to keep alot of it's original floor plan, etc. ...

For now...here are a few pics of my front porch and front of my little shed:

And.... Here is a LOVELY swap goody I received from Tanya Voll, from Australia....Isn't it just awsome ?? Thank you Tanya !

And now...This is a pair of childrens vintage rubber boots I got at an antique store...i am geting rid of stuff and just don'treally have a clue as to what I want to do with these, so I am selling them for $10 and $5 shipping...Email me through blogger if interested....

Have a great day,
Robin

I love old houses too. The one in your picture is wonderful! I love the porch on it. Makes you wish you could sneak inside for a peek. DH and I often drive in the country and feel so bad for the old farmhouses that are abandoned but have so much character.

There is an old victorian era house that I see on the way to my in-laws that no one has lived in for years - the paint is completely off but there still are those beautiful decorative pieces still evident on the house. I'm sure it's going to be torn down one day when they widen the road - it's on a corner. But I always wonder who lived there, what they were like, etc. And think it's a shame that no one claimed the house and refurbished it.

WOW! That is a really neat looking house Robin! What a shame that it has not been bought and brought back to life!!!

I'm the same way with old houses!! I LOVE them & wonder what stories they hold...breaks my heart to see the ones falling away in disrepair...

NOW, about those boots! They'd be CUTE on your porch with flowers in them! Geraniums? Hens & chicks?
Have a great day!

Robin,
Yes, I do often see houses and wonder why they were left in such shambles. There are quite a few up the back roads like that. One in particular doesn't look that old and then my Gran told me that the couple moved in there, like they inherited it from family, and then found that the septic wasn't up to code and they were forced to leave the house and build a new one. They now live up the hill in a beautiful log home but the old one just sits there....with the weeds and brush growing up around it. Kind of sad :(

The boots are adorable. I have a pair of Shane's old boots sitting underneath my picket fence bench by the front door :)

Love your little bird make-do that you received from your friend. It's very cute!

Your decor looks perfect, too. So summery and so simple!

Have a great day :)
