Another talented lady....and..I finished my rug....
First off, I wanted to spotlight this talented gal...Sherry of " From Sherry's Heart "(fromsherrysheart847) always has something wonderful up for sale, whether on Ebay or she is also a member of our new selling group " Primitive Handmades Mercantile" ...
I am so thrilled she used a few of my designs for her creations...click on her name to go and bid on one of her lovelies !!
And now...onto my finished rug...Let me first say this...If you didn't read any of my last few posts or the comments that were left, you need to first, otherwise you just won't quite get the gist of it...
This is what you get when you tell me I can't do anything right, or that I will never finish what I've started :
I'm referring to a little discussion...errrr....argument between my mother in law and I when I announced I was going to take the entrance exam for Nursing School...
Not only did those biting remarks inspire me to finish, but I graduated class Valedictorian, and received a few other awards..now I'm not bragging, just stating a fact and don't get me wrong...I love my mother in law dearly, but we went a few rounds when I was younger....lol
So with that all said...I am even more determined to keep hooking ( after not so nice comments were made..allthough some were instructional...lol)And...I know I made " mistakes" I'm not representing my rug as perfect, I may still fix a few things, but hey ...here is the finished rug ...for now ....
Thank you so much....all the encouraging comments, some were so sweet, others were quite funny ...and sweet !!
Now, onto my next project...I am designing a Bunny Doll and creating the pattern...Then, another hooked project...hmmmm..thinking, thinking...
You go girl!!!
ReplyDeleteSherry's creations are lovely! I also think yourrug turned out wonderful ~ I like the colors you chose.
Can't wait to see your next creation!
Prim Blessings

Your bunny rug turned out great!! Love the grayed soft eastery colors. Keep on a'hookin'!
ReplyDeleteAww so nice! I hope you're "hooked" on rug hooking!!
ReplyDeleteHi Robin ~
ReplyDeleteI think you did a FANTASTIC job on your rug...it reflects your love for what you do, and I think you design & hook wonderfully !! I have been hooking for more than 20 yrs and my loops are as wonky as they come...I sure son't follow any rules!
I also have a small collection of Sherry's handwork and feel she is a 'hidden' jewel of our primitive world...her work is impeccable and I wish more folks would collect her handwork, they would be investing in heirloom quality wares!!!
Thank you for doing what you do, and for sharing with us all...
Lori from Notgforgotten Farm
Sherry's pieces are wonderful. hope someone snatches them up!
ReplyDeleteRobin, you certainly are a go-getter :)! You give 100% in everything you do. If that doesn't inspire someone, I don't know what would. I look forward to seeing more and more and more and more from you when it comes to hooking!!
Good for you gal! I think your bunny rug looks perfectly fine.

WOW!!! What a GREAT compliment for you to show my things on your blog!! I LOVE your doodle designs to adapt to hooked rugs,I've done many of them. As far as Nursing School,I did the same thing with 3 little kids and a husband who worked 24 hour shifts.
ReplyDeleteYour rug is fantastic, keep on hookin'you've got it!!! I refrained from commenting on what that "person" (who apparently has no life)because I had alot to say and most of it would have been X Rated!!! If we get a group of gal pals together and you keep him down I'll run over his toes with my electric wheelchair!!! It's very heavy so it hurts. I know this because I ran over John's toes once!!! Thank You Lori and Robin too for your super nice comments!! Thanks Again Robin, this was a very special thing to wake up to this a.m.!!!!
Sherry
Woops and thank you Kathy (woolfind) too!!!

Hi, Robin:
ReplyDeleteI did read all of the previous posts, I follow you of course, and you sure did hook an adorable, future primitive heirloom. You give 150% of everything you put your heart into.
You're a caring, lovely and talented woman. I'm proud to have your patterns and one only has to look at your photo and your sidebar to see the marvelous designs that you create. You've left your mark on the world, these things will always be in the primitive craft world and I predict that they will be in such demand someday that you will see them commanding high prices on ebay and others for people that want your designs that are OOAK's.
Hugs,
Susan
For just starting on rug hooking I think you do beautiful work..
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job. Your rug looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteRobin,
ReplyDeleteSo sweet of you to showcase Sherry. She works very hard every day on her offerings. I know she enjoys doing your designs and those shown are wonderful.
Your bunny rug is precious! Love the colors. It has a nice soft old look to it. I think you are doing a wonderful job on all of your rugs. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. Just do what you think looks right. Enjoy the process. Hugs, Lori
